Chiropractic Washington, DC – specific adjustments

What Most Doctors Don’t Know, chiropractic Washington DC

This is that first post in a series that I am doing about “What Most Doctors Don’t Know”. I have been learning about alternative medicine for over a decade and a half and I have learned from some of the best masters that have lived in these years. There are many things that I just couldn’t imagine working with patients without.

This is one reason why I love teaching

I am very passionate about showing health care professionals how to help people at the next level. There are so many basic simple things that are not mainstream and taught at the schools because they are thought to be too “far out”.

One thing that is so simple and so important is muscle testing and the concept of the “Therapy Localization” and “Challenge”.

  • Therapy Localization: Dr. George Goodheart found that touching an area that had a “Problem” would cause a change in a muscle test. This gives us a tool to be able to find a problem.
  • Challenge: To see if an influence (pushing a bone in a specific direction, having a patient taste a supplement, having a patient thing about an emotional event, etc…) might correct a problem and change a muscle test. This can better guide a doctor to find out how to fix the problem.

Here is an example of therapy localization and challenge and how it can be applied to a chiropractic adjustment on the neck.

As you can see the use of therapy localization and challenge can be very important tools for a doctor to use. I couldn’t think about being a chiropractor without using technology like this. Without tools like therapy localization and challenge a doctor wouldn’t know exactly what is causing your health problem.

Let’s take neck pain for example. Neck pain can be caused by a bone being out of place in your neck. But it can also be caused by a bone being out in your low back, foot or shoulder. You neck may also be out of place because of a nutritional deficiency, toxicity or an emotional stress. Therapy localization helps your doctor figure this out.

With the challenge mechanism, the doctor will know exactly which direction the adjustment needs to go in. This can be important with someone who has excessive inflammation and their joints have become very swollen or with someone whose bones that have grown asymmetrical. A doctor’s judgement can be thrown off because that can’t feel that joint properly. The challenge mechanism shows the doctor how to help you recover quickly and easily.
